HubSpot Legacy Private App Readiness Audit
A written inventory of your legacy private apps and the API calls they make, with a migration checklist in priority order.
Fully asynchronous - no meeting required.
Who it's for
HubSpot admins, RevOps teams and agencies whose integrations, scripts or internal tools use legacy private app access tokens.
What HubSpot announced
- For accounts created before September 28, 2026, creating new legacy private apps is disabled on October 26, 2026. HubSpot says existing legacy private apps keep working as-is; only new ones can't be created. New in-account integrations should use Service Keys. HubSpot changelog.
- HubSpot also announced that legacy private apps must migrate to Projects-based private apps, and v1-v3 APIs become unsupported, with a September 2027 enforcement date (v4 support ends March 30, 2027). HubSpot changelog.
So October 26 does not break your current apps. It does mean that if you need a new integration, or planned to clone an app, the old route will be gone in existing accounts.
What you get
- App inventory (spreadsheet): each legacy private app, owner, scopes, what it is used for, and the endpoints it calls (v1, v2, v3, v4 or date-based).
- Written audit: which apps are at risk, by when, and a recommended path for each (Service Key or Projects-based app), in priority order.
- Migration checklist: step-by-step tasks per app, including scope review, key rotation and testing.
- Code scan notes (optional): if you share the relevant scripts, we list the legacy endpoints they call.

FAQ
Do my apps stop working on October 26, 2026?
No. According to HubSpot, existing legacy private apps continue to work; October 26 removes the ability to create new ones in existing accounts. Source.
Do you need access to our portal?
No. A Super Admin sends screenshots of Settings > Integrations > Private Apps (scopes tab per app) and, optionally, the scripts that use each token. Never send the token values themselves.
Is this a code migration?
No. It is a written audit and plan. If you want help with the migration itself, ask and we will quote it separately.
Are you affiliated with HubSpot?
No. We are independent and cite HubSpot's public developer changelog.
