CRM Import-Ready Contact Cleanup
Want the whole file cleaned? We fix emails, phones, names and duplicates and return an import-ready CSV. $9 per 500 rows.
"Acme Inc.", "ACME, INC", "Acme Incorporated" and "The Acme Company" are probably one company, but to a CRM they are four. That breaks account reports, territory rules and any attempt to group contacts by company. Load your list below to tidy the names and see which ones belong together. It all runs in your browser; your file is not uploaded.
Company name normalizer
Paste company names one per line, or upload a CSV and name the company column. You get a clean display name, a version with legal suffixes (Inc, LLC, Ltd, Corp) removed, and a match key that ignores case, punctuation, "The" and "&" vs "and", plus a list of names that are probably the same company.
Your file is read in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
What you get back
- Clean name: extra spaces removed, ALL CAPS and all-lowercase names changed to Title Case, and mixed-case names left as they are, so "iRobot" and "McKinsey" are kept. Choose whether to keep or remove the legal suffix.
- company_no_suffix: the name without legal endings such as Inc, Incorporated, Corp, Corporation, Co, Company, LLC, LLP, LP, Ltd, Limited, PLC, PLLC, PC, GmbH, Pty, SA, AG and BV.
- company_match_key: a lower-case key with the suffix, a leading "The", punctuation and the difference between "&" and "and" removed. Two rows with the same key are very likely the same company.
- A list of spelling variants: every company that appears under more than one spelling.
Should you remove Inc and LLC?
It depends on where the name is used. For matching, grouping and deduplication, compare names without the suffix; that is what the match key is for. For invoices, contracts and anything legal, keep the registered name with its suffix. Many teams store both: a display name without the suffix and the legal name in a separate field.
Limits of name matching
- Different companies can share a name in different cities or countries. Before merging, check the website domain, address or phone too.
- Abbreviations are not expanded: "IBM" and "International Business Machines" get different keys.
- A word like "Company" is only removed at the end of the name, so "Company Store LLC" keeps "Company Store".
Domains are usually a stronger match than names. Clean them with the URL and domain cleaner, then find duplicates on both name and domain with the duplicate company finder.
How to use the output
- Sort the downloaded CSV by
company_match_key. - For each group with more than one spelling, pick the spelling you want to keep.
- Update your records, or re-import with the agreed name, after a small test.
