In GoHighLevel, a workflow can start when a tag is added to or removed from a contact (source: https://help.gohighlevel.com/support/solutions/articles/155000002482-workflow-trigger-contact-tag). If your account has "Hot Lead", "hot lead" and "hot-lead", we recommend picking one spelling and using it everywhere, so your triggers and filters all point at the same tag. Paste your tags or load a contact export below to see every spelling that should be one tag. It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
GoHighLevel tag cleanup tool
Paste tags one per line, or upload a contact CSV with a Tags column (tags separated by commas inside the cell). The tool lowercases and trims tags, merges near-duplicates such as "Hot Lead", "hot-lead" and "hot_lead ", and gives you a rename map plus a cleaned CSV.
Your file is read in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
How the cleanup works
- Converts tags to lower case and trims spaces.
- Treats spaces, dashes, underscores and dots as the same separator, then writes tags with dashes (hot-lead).
- Removes the same tag repeated on one contact.
- Lists every original spelling next to its clean tag, so you can rename or re-tag in your account.
Applying the clean tags
- Check which workflows and filters use each old spelling before you change anything.
- Update the triggers and filters to the clean tag.
- Re-import the cleaned CSV with a small test batch first. Tag triggers only run for tags added or removed after the workflow is active, not for tags a contact already has (source: https://help.gohighlevel.com/support/solutions/articles/155000002482-workflow-trigger-contact-tag).
