Date fields such as Date of Birth or a custom "Start Date" field are a common source of silent import problems: as the ISO 8601 page puts it, 01/05/22 could mean January 5, 2022, or May 1, 2022. ISO 8601 sets out YYYY-MM-DD as an internationally agreed way to write dates (source: https://www.iso.org/iso-8601-date-and-time-format.html). Convert your dates to that format before you import. Nothing leaves your browser.

Paste dates one per line, or upload a CSV and name the date column. Dates are converted to YYYY-MM-DD. Dates where day and month could be swapped are converted using the order you pick, and anything unreadable is flagged instead of guessed.
Your file is read in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
What the fixer reads
- 2026-03-04 and 2026/3/4
- 03/04/2026, 3-4-26 and 3.4.2026, using the order you pick
- March 4, 2026 and 4 Mar 2026
- 5-digit numbers, which the fixer converts as spreadsheet serial dates and flags so you can confirm
If the first number is above 12, the fixer reads it as the day. Values it cannot turn into a real calendar date are flagged in a new date_check column.
Before you import
- We suggest storing dates in a Date custom field rather than a text field.
- Check the date format your import screen expects and run a 5 to 10 row test import.

Why YYYY-MM-DD?
It is the date format set out in the ISO 8601 standard, which ISO describes as an unambiguous, internationally understood format (source: https://www.iso.org/iso-8601-date-and-time-format.html).
